AC Shadows Introduces Unexpected Attack on Titan Event for Holiday Season
In a surprising collaboration that breaks usual forecasts, Ubisoft has revealed an in-game crossover between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the renowned anime series Attack on Titan. The unexpected holiday event operates from November 25 through December 22, providing complimentary additional story content for Shadows players.
Mysterious Adventure Revealed
According to the authorized release, "A strange confrontation pulls heroes Naoe and Yasuke into a original quest, where rumors of forbidden practices and terrifying metamorphoses reverberate through the obscurity." The narrative introduces a "unusually garbed woman named Ada" who charges the characters with journeying into the Gemstone Grotto—a important location from Attack on Titan—to rescue her ally from a secret group.
The adventure concentrates on "peculiar experiments and a terrifying foe" and is accessible to all players who have unlocked the Yasuke character.
Familiar Settings and Metamorphoses
The preview showcases the Subterranean Sanctuary from Attack on Titan redesigned as the Crystal Cave. This important location was earlier where the Reiss royal family handed down the Founding Titan ability through eras. The preview ends with a dramatic moment showing a character, likely the hostage, changing into a Titan that towers over Naoe and Yasuke.
Special Items and Additional Material
Players who finish the quest will receive an exclusive katana alongside numerous items hidden throughout the area in hidden chests. The update also includes in-store Attack on Titan item packs, offering:
- Titan-based outfit for Yasuke
- Mikasa outfit for Naoe
- Exclusive implements
- Survey Corps steed
Latest Free Story Addition
This release also adds the game's latest no-cost story addition, titled "The Enigma." This humorous adventure teams Naoe and Yasuke as they trade characteristic abilities: Naoe reveals a dramatic interpretation of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke learns subduing stealth takedowns. True to its name, "The Enigma" also contains a fresh environmental puzzle that may ultimately clarify some unresolved questions from the main storyline.
